Tap, hold, and your family knows.
EMARU is a family safety app for Android. Hold one gesture for three seconds and the people you chose get an alert with your live location. It alerts your family. It does not call emergency services.
This is the real gesture, as a demo. Tap once, then press and hold the ring.
How it works
Make a family
Start a family in the app and share a short invite code. Each person joins with the code. Nobody is added without it.
Send what fits
An emergency, a quiet heads-up, or a simple "I'm okay". You pick who gets it, or send it to everyone.
They answer back
Their phones buzz with a notification and a map. They can tap "I am coming", and you see who saw it.
Four ways to reach your family
Emergency
Tap once, press and hold for three seconds. A short countdown lets you cancel a mistake. Then your whole family is alerted with where you are.
Heads-up
For things that are not an emergency: "pick me up", "running late". A normal notification, no alarm.
Check-in
One tap to say you got home safe.
Walk me
Let someone follow your walk home. It ends when you arrive.
What EMARU is not
EMARU does not contact the police, an ambulance or any emergency service. It tells the family members you chose. If you are in danger, call your local emergency number first.
Alerts need an internet connection and working notifications on both phones. If an alert could not be sent, the app says so on screen.
Your family, your data
- Only your family sees you. Your location goes to the people in your family, not to a public map.
- Location is shared while the app is open. It stops when you close it. Background sharing is not in this version.
- You can leave. Sign out on your phone, and email us to delete your data.
Get early access
EMARU is being tested with a small group of families. It runs on Android phones. An iPhone version is not available yet.
To join the test, email us with your name and phone model, and we will send you the app and a family code.
