Delete your data

You can have your EMARU account and data deleted at any time. There are two ways.

In the app

Open EMARU and tap the person icon (top right) to open your Me page.
Scroll down, tap Delete my account and confirm. It happens straight away.

By email

Send an email to support@emaruapp.cc with the subject "Delete my EMARU account", from the email address on your account. If you no longer have access to it, tell us your first name, your phone number and a family code you belonged to, and we will check it is you.

What gets deleted

Your profile: name, email, phone number, push token.
Your last location and battery level.
Your connections in My people, and any requests you sent or received. You disappear from other people's maps.
Your alerts and replies are deleted, or kept only without your name where another person's alert history needs them.

Deleting in the app is immediate; an email request is finished within 30 days. We may keep minimal records where the law requires it or to prevent abuse, such as a note that a deletion was requested, and a record that an account was suspended for sending too many alerts. Server logs are kept briefly. We also ask our service providers (Cloudflare, Google Firebase) to delete anything they hold for us.

Only want to delete some things?

Stop sharing: turn off "Share with my family" on your Me page.
Remove a person: My people in the menu.
